Location

This unique vacation home is located in the rural community of East Sooke, across the harbour from the coastal town of Sooke, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. The Sooke area is known for its west coast rugged beauty, its temperate climate, its recreation, fishing, boating and paddling in the protected waters of Sooke Harbour and Basin (15 miles of foreshore). Sooke is large enough to have the essential services and amenities to make rural living comfortable - medical and health care, entertainment, library, shops, restaurants, theatre, artists, artist studios, performing arts, music and many parks and hiking trails.

East Sooke is a small rural community with a summer population of over 1000 residents. We have a country store, with post office, a community firehall, playing field, tennis court and excellent parks and hiking trails. We are only 30 minutes from the urban centre and provincial capital city - Victoria. It is a one hour drive to the international airport or ferry terminal. Or you can arrive by chartered float plane. We are minutes away from the salmon and halibut fishing grounds out in the Strait of Juan de Fuca. Sooke has many excellent fishing guides to each you the tricks of the downrigger, lures, hootchies and bait!

From Victoria BC Canada: West on Hwy.1 take the Colwood - Sooke Exit #10. Take Hwy.14 (Sooke Rd.) west for about 15 minutes. Just past the 17 Mile Pub, turn left onto Gillespie Rd. Drive about 6 minutes to East Sooke Rd. Turn right. Drive another 8 minutes to Eliza Point Rd. Turn right and look for our sign. (our address reads 6514 Thornett Rd.)

To reach our house you will travel down a winding tree canopied country lane, past bucolic hobby farms, fields, and a sprinkling of houses tucked away in lush gardens. Eliza Point House is a fenced and gated property and when you pass through the gates the magic begins.... surrounded by tended gardens and lawns with many comfortable places to relax and enjoy the stunning ocean scenery. Relax in the seaside gazebo or the privacy of your well appointed suite and let the gentle sea breezes carry your stresses away...
